Rebecca White, RN, BSN, Herbalist

Creator of Converse with the Nurse

Converse with the Nurse was created out of a need to educate and support Oregonians in the responsible use of cannabis after its legalization in 2014. Rebecca, the Nurse behind the Converse, is a clinical herbalist, avid gardener, and science nerd.  


She holds a Baccalaureate in Nursing from Southern Utah University and has a rich history in the nursing field – including acute care, long-term care, preventative care, and support systems for marginalized adults. Rebecca has taught in a variety of arenas from Portland Community College nursing classrooms to lectures for our elder communities.

Emma Chasen, Eminent Consulting

Emma Chasen has a mission to educate people on the science behind Cannabis so that they may take charge of their own healing.  After graduating from Brown University in 2014 with a degree in Medicinal Plant Research, Emma went on to coordinate Clinical Oncology trials with the Brown University Oncology Research Group. In Oregon she began her career at Farma as a budtender and was quickly promoted to General Manager and eventually to Director of Education. In this role she was able to focus on educational efforts and create a robust training curriculum that focused on cannabis science, product knowledge and empathetic patient care. Emma now co-owns and operates Eminent Consulting, a cannabis consulting business that offers educational training programs for cannabis industry professionals and lay enthusiasts.

Matt Taylor, Eminent Consulting

With a combined history in music and banking, Matt Taylor now brings his multifaceted abilities and expertise to the Cannabis Industry, beginning at Farma, a leading cannabis retailer, in October 2015. While at Farma, Matt occupied many management roles, providing constant leadership to staff and often filling in as General Manager as needed. In December of 2017, Matt accepted a business development and sales position with High Noon Cultivation, a premier Oregon craft cannabis producer, granting Matt knowledge and expertise in the functions of Cannabis production. Matt now co-owns and operates Eminent Consulting, a cannabis consulting business that offers management consulting services, design and creation of marketing materials, and educational training programs for cannabis industry professionals and lay enthusiasts. Matt has a mission to employ authenticity to reframe how professionalism applies to the cannabis industry.

Anna Symonds, Director of Education, East Fork Cultivars

As the Director of Education for East Fork Cultivars, Anna developed the free educational program CBD Certified, through which she has directly educated thousands of people about cannabis science. She holds an MA in Communication and is a member of the International Cannabinoid Research Society and the Oregon Cannabis Commission's Research Leadership Subcommittee. Anna continues to educate lawmakers at the local, state, and national levels, lobbying for full cannabis legalization, patient access, and removing the barriers to clinical research.

Christine LaPorte

Christine brings 18+ years of experience as a photo producer for Rolling Stone and Adidas, interactive project manager for Intel, and recruiter for Nike, Columbia Sportswear and R/GA.
As the owner of PDX Career Coach, she empowers talent to strategically advance their careers by maximizing networking opportunities and creating compelling resumes and LinkedIn profiles.

With every paid consultation, Christine provides a complimentary workshop to an at-risk individual through local non-profit partners.

Michelle Neal, MPA

Michelle Neal has over ten years of experience as a career coach. She’s helped professionals of all ages find job search success, from college students to mid-career professionals. Michelle values authenticity and provides support through honesty, transparency and humor. Her mission is to help job seekers unlock their best professional self.

Coach Michelle can be that person in your life whose main concern is your success. Her goal is to objectively guide you through a custom process tailored to help you successfully transition to the next phase of your career.

In addition to coaching, Michelle has a wide range of professional experience including as program director for The National Conference for Community and Justice, regional director of INROADS Inc., and adjunct faculty positions at Marylhurst University and Portland State University.
